hi there

the semi-formal bio
a few things about me…
I am a professional listener and advocate for wellbeing; formally titled a restorative coach and therapeutic yoga educator. I love to laugh and have the sideways sense of humor often shared by people who have walked through fire. I prefer popcorn to lobster, buy more books than I have time to read, and cheer out loud when people win on The Price is Right! I fought and survived a terminal childhood diagnosis (twice) and still occasionally get knocked sideways by a “bad hair day” like everybody else. I married my college sweetheart and we live in the San Francisco Bay Area with our two children, who challenge us and teach us about love, gratitude, resilience, and forgiveness every day.
I earned a BA and MHA from Cornell University, hold professional certifications in coaching and restorative yoga, and am currently working toward certification as a yoga therapist with a special emphasis on the neurophysiology of resilience and mental health. Prior to starting my own business, I led the Strategic Management Division of a nonprofit healthcare system after many years as a strategy and operations improvement consultant. This experience taught me a great deal about developing the strengths of others and ignited a passion for personal and professional development.
I have been a 30+ year volunteer for Make-A-Wish® and the mission is in my very bones. My dedication to Make-A-Wish® started with the granting of my own wish, while battling and surviving a terminal bone marrow failure diagnosis. I could never give back in equal measure to the impact my wish had on my life and it is my honor to travel the country as a National Spokesperson, raising awareness and support for our incredible mission. I served for seven years on the Make-A-Wish® America National Board of Directors and I am currently the Vice Chair and Secretary of the Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area Board of Directors. I am very, very proud to play an active role in helping our chapters reach every eligible child.
